Pierre-Alexis Dumas

Artistic Executive Vice-President

Born in 1966, Pierre-Alexis Dumas is a great-grandson of Émile Hermès (1871-1951) and a sixth-generation member of the family. His parents were Jean-Louis and Rena Dumas.

A graduate in visual arts from Brown University (United States), he began his career in the Hermès group in 1992 with the creative committee at the Cristallerie Saint-Louis and the silversmith Puiforcat.

He joined Hermès International in 1993, taking the reins of the Hong Kong, Taiwan and China subsidiaries (1996-1998), then the United Kingdom subsidiary until 2002, when he became delegate artistic director for Jean-Louis Dumas.

Pierre-Alexis Dumas has been Hermès’ artistic director in charge of creation since 2005.

In 2008 he created the Fondation d’entreprise Hermès, of which he was president until February 2016.

The Executive Committee

Hermès International’s executive management is comprised of the Executive Chairmen and the Executive Committee, which consists of Managing Directors, each of whom has well-defined areas of responsibility. Its role is to oversee the Group’s strategic management.
